Who is Mark

Mark is a leadership expert and international award- winning keynote speaker with vast experience navigating turbulent waters in both business and professional sport. 

In his professional sailing career he’s competed in countless races and sailed over 80,000 miles across the worlds’ most hostile oceans. The pinnacle of this was leading an amateur team to success in the BT Global Challenge round the world yacht race, dubbed ‘the worlds’ toughest’. 

In addition over the last 20+ years Mark has also consulted for some of the worlds’ greatest organisations, helping to reshape their cultures and improve their resilience to deliver better, faster and more sustainably, especially in times of disruption and change. One project he was involved with led to a £1.27 Billion saving. 

He’s also a sought after and accredited Executive and Team coach, and a non-executive director to two fast-growing start-ups.

Experiences and passions

Mark is passionate about achieving sustainable performance through people which means both Leadership and Teamwork. He has been lucky enough to work with some of the world’s greatest companies to develop both, whether that’s coaching senior leadership teams to get clearer on their direction of travel or helping them get unstuck when facing confounding circumstances and change. He has also spoken at thousands of events worldwide on these topics, sharing his crucial learning from the ocean race course to help others facing choppy waters.
