Who is Jon

Jon was previously (until September 2016)  Global Head of Culture (Managing Director), at Barclays Bank PLC responsible for leading a team tasked with ensuring that Barclays’ vision and purpose is supported by an organisation with the right culture to deliver this i.e. Leadership focussed in the right way, the right capabilities and systems (e.g. resourcing, performance management, colleague engagement) all underpinned by a clear narrative thread, shared values and a robust approach to the measurement of progress.

Previously Head of Senior Leadership Group Talent & Development for Barclays, accountable for assessing and developing the most senior leaders at Barclays and their potential successors. Jon was with Barclays for 6 years having previously held roles in Barclaycard and Retail and Business Banking. 

Jon began his commercial career at Mars Confectionary working in sales management (including work in sales development in Poland) followed by Guinness (Diageo) and InterContinental Hotels where he held a succession of senior generalist Human Resources and Organisational Development roles. Jon  has worked in the UK and also in the USA for 4 years.

Jon is now consulting independently on culture, change management and leadership in tandem with completing a doctorate (Durham University) in culture change.
