Who is Rachel

Rachel Kochany is an executive coach, facilitator and leadership consultant who works with senior leaders and teams to create the conditions for clearer thinking, stronger relationships, more effective leadership and better use of team potential, whilst still driving results.

She brings more than 20 years’ experience of leading complex global projects, organisational change, and transformation. Rachel also worked as a trusted adviser on internal finance and IT change programmes and led major SAP rollouts across more than 80 countries as part of a large-scale transformation programme replacing numerous legacy systems.

Her wider international experience includes work with the British Council and being based in Warsaw while working on projects supporting Poland’s preparation for EU accession.

This background gives Rachel a strong practical understanding of what it takes to lead through complexity, ambiguity and organisational change across differing cultural, functional and stakeholder environments. It has also shaped her particular interest in bringing the people element into change - helping leaders create the conditions in which people can engage with, contribute to and ultimately make change work.

Experiences & Passions

Rachel’s work now centres on one-to-one executive coaching and Thinking Partnerships, alongside facilitating senior teams and leadership conversations. Her work draws on a number of complementary approaches. Rachel is an ICF-accredited coach, a Strengthscope® Master Practitioner and a licensed practitioner in Dr John Blakey’s Leadership Trust Index. She is also trained in Nancy Kline’s Time to Think® approach, including Thinking Partnerships and Transforming Meetings.

Her areas of expertise include senior leadership effectiveness, strategic thinking and decision-making, trust, strengths-based leadership, change and transformation, cross-functional and cross-cultural working, and creating environments in which people can think, contribute and thrive.

Rachel is inspired by the great outdoors, light, space, colour and good design. She loves visiting art galleries and finds this renews her perspective every time.

What clients say

““I have highly valued having Rachel as a thinking partner for the past couple of years. In our scheduled sessions, she provides the space for me to explore my thoughts and feelings on whatever topic I choose to bring. Her attentive listening and presence support me to find new depths of understanding myself and my situation, from which I find clarity and a way forward. She is intuitive, accepting and empathic, which enables me to take my thinking beyond where I have gone before. Her approach is highly supportive, whilst also respectfully challenging assumptions and behaviour patterns as needed. I enjoy working with Rachel and would highly recommend her.””
