Sean was born and raised in Manchester, UK. He has lived and worked in Asia since 2001 and became a Singapore Citizen in 2013. He has worked extensively throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia over a successful career spanning senior management positions in diverse industries: enterprise technology & consulting, advertising, financial services.

He is an Executive Coach, Facilitator, and Theatre-led Learning Designer. In 2018 he conceptualised the “4Cs” of effective communication: Curiosity; Courage; Clarity; Connection.  His primary research interests are in the field of positive psychology and the application of strengths-based research. Sean coined the acronym STRIVE-C to describe various strength lenses: Skills, Talents, Resources, Interests, Values, Experiences and Character.

Sean is also an actor, writer, director, producer and a co-founder of Asia’s only theatre production and theatre-led learning organisation – Pachyderm – creating opportunities for artists to work in business, and for business to support artists making art.

Sean listened, really listened – not just to what I said but how I said it and what I didn’t articulate. His feedback was always incisive but also kind and sometimes humourous so our conversations were relaxed and time flew.  What’s more, he got straight to the right questions as he already seemed to know my industry and so we could focus on me rather than all the context setting that I expected I would need to share.

We asked Sean and Dramatic Difference to create a 2 day executive development workshop and ran it in various Asia Pacific and European locations, with about 14 different cohorts. It was specifically designed with scenarios for our Industry and Enterprise Architect top talent to address: Influence & Persuasion with internal/external stakeholders; Storytelling for sales impact; Executive Presence; Effective & Agile Dialogue.

This type of workshop is available from many providers, but what is different is that Sean does not pile complex theory and techniques onto an already very experienced group of participants. Instead, the course was focused on real-life practice and immediately actionable feedback. This worked well because Sean is assisted by a small group of extremely experienced coaches who are also professionally trained actors. It is this type of coaching that really made a difference for us.
